TexasBank recently donated $10,000 to the Banking Academy located within the Woody L. Hunt College of Business at the University of Texas at El Paso.
El Paso, TX – TexasBank recently donated $10,000 to the Banking Academy located within the Woody L. Hunt College of Business at the University of Texas at El Paso.

The Banking Academy began in 2021 and has quickly found success in graduating students who are ready to begin work promptly after graduation in the banking workforce. They have invested in updating software and curriculum to enhance learning experiences within the classroom. Recently, the academy was also named a member of the Risk Management Association.

Along with the donation, TexasBank has committed to being part of the academy’s advisory council to offer advice and relevant experiences in banking as well as hiring interns to benefit from day-to-day work
experiences.

Ann Herkenhoff, President of TexasBank El Paso celebrates the donation saying, “we are thrilled to begin this partnership with UTEP. It is an opportunity with direct relevance to what we do every day and to
build more community-minded bankers is what will continue to make our profession great for generations to come.”

Also, in attendance at the check presentation included Greg Dodds, President and CEO, Myrtle Bowles Scott General Council and Chief Compliance Officer, Travis Evans AVP Community Reinvestment Officer
Trey Miller SVP Commercial Lender, and Marcia Armendariz, AVP El Paso Market Manager, as well as many board members and staff with UTEP Business School. John Hadjimarcou, Dean of the Woody L. Hunt
College of Business: “The support from TexasBank further solidifies our shared commitment to preparing the next generation of banking professionals. This gift enhances resources and opportunities available to
our students and strengthens our efforts to build strong pipelines of students into the banking and financial industry.”
